Protect Our Rivers Day Cleanup & Celebration

Join us to cleanup the Big Thompson River!

We're excited to announce that Governor Polis has accepted our request to proclaim June 22nd as National Protect Our Rivers Day!

Join us and Loveland Ford to commemorate the first National Protect Our Rivers Day. We're celebrating with a river cleanup on the Big Thompson followed by a celebratory beer.

Event Details

What to Bring

Dress casually and wear closed-toed shoes. Bring a water bottle and sunscreen. Waders, boots and water shoes are encouraged.

Protect Our Rivers will provide gloves, trash bags, grabbers, and hand sanitizer.

Arrival and Parking

We will meet in the grassy area near the Kings Crossing

Nature Area. Parking is free.

After you park, please head to the Protect Our Rivers tent to check in and pick up your supplies.

The Game Plan

After check-in and a short safety talk, we'll head out to pick up the Big Thompson River.

We'll meet back up around 6:15 pm, take a group photo, then head to a brewery for a post cleanup beer.
